Did you pack your bags yourself, sir?

I've got a question for you folks that I sure hope someone can answer for me...
I live in the UK, where, due to health issues, I get several types of medication free.
Could someone tell me what the US policy is on carrying your own drugs?
It's stuff I can't really do without, since I'm diabetic amongst other things.

Though I can't make it to AC'09, when I do get to one, which I very much intend to do, I'd need to bring Metformin, Pioglitazone, Simvastatin and Lisinopril with me. Does anyone foresee any problems at the airports or even with the hotels?
Not having been to the US before it's something I'm worried about after hearing the fuss over US residents going to Canada for meds because they're cheaper.

Hopefuly I'll get to meet some of you folks at AC2010 ^_^

Too bad you are not gonna be able to make it to AC09 and I would go to AC2010 if I could, but unfortunately I don't think I will be able to. Anyway as Chiaroscuro so graciously posted yeah your medication would be allowed. I think they would have more liability if they didn't let you take those medications on the plane seeing as those are pretty important.
