As FoxBoy mentioned, a sketchbook is a popular thing to bring; various artists will be available to draw commissions. I'd also recommend a camera to bring along, to take pictures; you probably bring one of those to anime conventions as it stands.
You may not need your laptop; Anthrocon does have an Internet room, which suffices for most people's needs, quick email checks and the like. Consider if your personal laptop will be necessary.
Otherwise, I'd figure that the same sort of clothing and gear you bring to an anime con will serve your needs at Anthrocon.

permalinkthe only real reason why i would bring the laptop is the flight from San Francisco to pitsburg is going to be long. i think i will leave it behined if internet is avlible at the con.
after reading the list of con ... stuf for lack of a beter tearm most of the basics gose without saying. however i will bring a folder and a scetch book for art (my own and others.
and yes furries dose rule.

There are obvious things to bring to a convention. Toiletries, clean clothes, even a sense of humour.
There are not-so-obvious things. Eyeglasses, first aid, even an extra pillow, should you have to crash on the floor. (Hey, I've done it.)
And then there are things to leave at home. I don't think I need to say what these are.
