Er... you mean, "Blotch girls" There's two of 'em, Teagan (I think) and Kenket. I've heard there's a guy joining the group, however, so it may become the "Blotch bunch"

But yeah, they sell artwork. Originals of their stuff would likely be hella expensive, yes, but what most people buy are prints---high-resolution color printouts on good paper. Usually about USD$10 or so a pop.

The price of artwork for ANY artist entered in the Furry Con Artshows can vary dramatically, depending on size, subject matter, setting, theme/story/whimsey content, medium, SIZE. A watercolour and acrylic original, matted and mounted, and typically of 11" by 14", might have a minimum bid of $80 or so - but might be popular enough to be bid up by competing, would-be owners, to truly astronomical prices.

For example - One of Blotch's artshow entries, "Ragged Meadow", was an 11" by 14" Watercolour and Acrylic on illo board, double matted, landscape orientation; subject matter was a Wildlife, realistic Jaguar, stalking into the dark jungle, from out of a well-lit meadow in the background. This illustration was used for the box design on the "Wild Cat Cards" project of Roz Gibson, and beautifully rendered; it had a minimum bid price of $86; one bidder bid $100 for it, and that is the price it sold for.

At the very same artshow - in fact, on the very same panel - Blotch offered a 12" by 15" watercolour and acrylic work, double matted, portrait orientation; entitled "Jagermeister", a stand-alone illustration, not used for any book or product, but a Very Nicely detailed, anthro Stag, hunting with bow and arrow, in an oak and fern forest; sunlight and silhouette of overhead boughs and foliage dapple his coat; he wears a crucifix, the strap of his arrow quiver has a yellow/red/black striped design (the colors of the germna flag) an all around the border of this imageis written, in that beautiful Old German Script, the same legend printed around the label of a bottle of Jagermeister liquor. This is a semi-whymsical anthropomorphic version, inspired by that label.

This one had the minimum bid listed at $122...it went to voice auction...

...Where it finally went for $2,500.

Please note that the original asking price - which is what the "minimum bid" really is - is perhaps a little low; many artists sort of underappreciate the value of their own art (which is why I bid $100 for Ragged Meadow, and if anyone had followed up my bid, I would have happily gone up), sometimes out of lack of confidence in their own worth as artists, sometimes under the misguided theory that underpriced art will attract at least ONE bid, and that maybe a frenzy will follow. On the other paw, Dark Natasha, one of Furry Fandom's more popular artists, routinely asks for $25 for her limited-edition (she prints only 5) Jumbo Prints, and sometimes $45 for the rare, framed original artwork that she enters, or $25 for her pencil minis - but they always draw competitive bidders, and never go for the minimum.

You want some of Blotch's art? Come to a convention, get a Bidder's Number (they cost nothing, but you have to fill out a form), and walk through the artshow, and bid! And if you lose to a higher bid, well, the Artists' Alley is usually still open after the close of the Art Show, so you can buy a print, a real bargain compared to the original. And if you want something more..."personal"...many artists take commissions, to custom-draw artwork to your request; fees are negotiable, depending on what you want, and how complex it is to create. Be prepared to pay half the fee up front - and be prepared to wait. For the more popular artists, there is a list, and for a few, the wait can be a couple of years.
