From an Island slightly smaller than Australia

Well I was hoping there would be someplace I could post comments about the con and I found this forum section right away. I just want to say that AC 08 was one of the best trips I have ever taken. Going to AC is always a big trip for me. I attended it first in 2004, which was also my first furry convention anywhere. I have to say that this year was so much more amazing than I could have ever hoped. I am already making plans to go back and hopefully will be gettiing my tickets earlier ><. I was suprised enough that there were other furs from Hawaii and even more suprised when One of them was going. It hit the twilight zone when I was able to talk wiith Ponygirl who used to live here also. I am just bummed I didn't get a chance to say Hi to Stan Sakai. I found out after AC 04 that he was also an alumni of UH Manoa. Hopefully he will come back next year. Anyway I just want to thank all the staff, every cool person I met, and the guest of Ok for being so awesome. Thanks and see ya next year! |

Hi! I'm that other guy from Hawaii. Yes, AC was awesome! This was my first time at AC and my 2nd furry convention. Sadly, I won't be back for 2009, due to the week of the 4th of July being blacked-out for vacations at my workplace. Hopefully I'll be back in 2010, by that time, the American economy will be back to normal and gas will be around $3/gal.
The 10-hour flight, bland airline food (which I actually paid for), delayed regional connection flight (which was VERY turbulent coming into Pittsburgh), cranky flight attendant, the jet lag, the crowded elevators, and the tornado warning on Sunday (which I didn't know about until today). AC made it all worth it! I got to commission almost all of the artists I wanted a sketch or badge from! Thank you all!

Gas will be $0.50 a gallon since there will suddenly be lots to go around due to 9/10's of the population being wiped out by the mutant super-flu plague THAT WILL DESTROY US ALL!! <:O
Or the asteroid... or Yellowstone exploding... or a black hole passing through the solar system... or the mega-tsunami from that little Atlantic island blowing up...
Don't laugh! IT COULD HAPPEN TOMORROW!! D:

*Cracks cold beer flipping the cap at the top of the nuclear warhead he conveniently stashes in his livingroom* Ehhh I wouldn't worry too much about that.
I am trying to do my part to help the earth not have a giant dry heave that will make that massive tsunami. Because Hawaii + Massive tsunami =
(sad face).
As for gas prices, I do wish I had a yard or garage at the moment, because I would probably start making biodiesel. When it cost $50 to fill up a honda civic, you know the end is near XP.
In all seriousness though it was an amazing trip, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would even probably take on that rabid flight attendant in a fire ring death match for the chance, but hopefully it doesn't ever come to that.
With all luck I will be there again next year and will get to meet some more cool people. I think Kage will have enough drink invites for his blood alcohol level to circle the meter, but maybe I can catch him with the bloody Mary or coffee at the end. XP
