First things first I want to say I had a great time, and it was great to see every one again this year. I really look forward to AC every year, and cant wait for AC09. To every one that didn't get to see me, sorry my mate was there and I had not seen him in 3 months.

I don't know what it is about con raves, however it really dos not need to be that dark. I have been in some really seedy gay cubs and they only places that dark are the corners and hallways that you can yiff in. Is it possible that maybe next year you can bring up the house lights just a little? Now I'm not talking a lot, but just enough that you can see your hand in front of your face.

I also have something to say about con security. Its one thing to stop two people from humping on the dance floor, but maybe you can ease up on people for grinding. You know after all it is a dance, I would like to say for 95% of us were out of high school. I personally don't think there needs to be a 12in. rule here.

Much love,
CyanLeopard

Which dances did you attend? Thursday night's was a lot darker than Friday or Saturday because we weren't running the fog machine as much. Typically we really crank that thing up, and the reflection of light all over the fog causes the room to brighten up a good deal (enough to clearly see all the objects on the floor, like chairs). This was an oversight on my part, but next year we'll try to start the fog earlier so the same brightening up happens each night.

I went to every dance up front lighting was ok, but as you went back into the room it got harder to see. Like I sad it dos not need to be much brighter, just a little enough to see what your dancing with. I will say with the addition of the new lights and lasers they added this year it was much better thin last year.

I ducked into both the Thursday and I think Saturday night danced and they were pitch freaking black in there. Couldn't really even see where the asiles of chairs were.

The "No Grinding" rule come from above, still trying to maintain the general "PG-13" rating for the con, and its on a case by case basis.

So unless you can get the management to re-rate the dance "adult" we'll have to continue to enforce said rules.

Actually, Simba, this is a question we should explore. Chat with me.

Im not saying we should have a striper pole out there, but dancing should be sexy and fun. I don't think people should be out there yiffing of the floor but the should be encouraged to have a good time. After all that is what a dance is all about.

I enjoyed the dance for the most part, but I did find the fog machine a bit of a nuisance. The effect was cool with the lasers, though. I found it a bit hard to breathe. (Good thing the room was big)

I don't mind the "sexy" dancing myself, but we do have children at the convention. Maybe we should have one tame dance, and another more adult-themed?

As far as the lighting situation goes, I did find it difficult to see, and I wasn't even in costume this year. Wasn't until the lasers were shining their way through the fog that I could avoid bumping into people.

What I did like was the music. We've some of the most talented DJs out there. Smiling

I believe the question of an adult-themed dance has already been addressed.

I believe the rave was abit dark for most too(though i don't mind a dark rave either),especially when you have a suit on.
The lasers helped alot with the fog machine. It have that gentle aurora light effect. Though i think that the fog machine should be placed higher up where it intersects the lasers or whatever lightsource and it'll mix better as the fog kept settling in one place and didn't move or disperse evenly causing it to be too thick.
As far as a more "adult" oriented rave (but not too extreme) that has to be a private rave thrown by interested individuals of the attendees.

The secret is in you.....
