This year's was my fave! It was my first time suiting, and it was awesome!!! I can't wait for next year.
Btw, any body know where to look for the pictures/video of the fursuit parade? I've been surfing the site but I haven't found any references to it. I figure this year's isn't up yet, it having only been two days ago, but I would have liked to have seen last year's if it was here.

Each Anthrocon is special, it's hard to pick just one. The even-year Anthrocons seem to have more historical import for me (2000: First one! 2002: [Thing X I'm not talking about]! 2004: Regime change and [Thing Y I'm not talking about]! 2006: Pittsburgh, and 'The Herd'! 2008: Board of Directors! Though 2001 had meeting Bill Holbrook, 2005 was that wacky Wyndham year and I became AD, and 2003 and 2007 had their prime moments as well.
If I had to pick one, I'd say 2002 or 2008. Those were the years that Registration- which is a major part of my Anthrocon experience- felt very much like a family. 2002 was still the FurrySpace Era, and Buran, Galand, Corben, Fisk, Devi, Snowdog, Kagur, and others in the Reg department were all there. I think it's the year we got the T-shirts, too.
In 2008, Registration really had that same feeling again, growing from 2007. Sonic God, Derecho, Tyrrlin, Rhennessa, and my Dad. Even the presences of Leo and Kagur, who weren't on Regstaff this year but were around and helpful. And at the Staff dinner... the Dorsai's song really made it all come together at the end, and helped punctuate that feeling of community, of belong-ing-ness, that is so wonderful to feel at these conventions.

:nods: Exactly.
For me, it seems like every year i attend has some really fantastic memory i treasure for ages, and some kinda sucky memory i prefer not to think much about. And the fantastic memories are more than worth everything else.

Anthrocon is a family to me. Each year I feel loved in the presence of friends and I enjoy my time with all of the things that I get to do. I agree with Chia on this one: There isn't a single Anthrocon that I would favour over the other. I enjoy Anthrocon as a whole.
Some of the best friends that I have ever had I met at Anthrocon. Each year gets better and better.

AC06 My first con. Since then I've realized Anthrocon is kinda like opium, first time is always the best and after that you're always chasing the dragon... cause you want to hug his soft fursuit.
AC07 and AC08 are tied at the moment. I met more people alst year but this year I laughed till I about died. But last year I didn't put myself into horrible debt by attending.

While it's really hard to pick one (since I always love Anthrocon)...I'd have to say that a really special one for me was Anthrocon 2005. That was my first year as Programming Director. Also we had the Rescue Dog group as our charity, and they ended up 'training" a bunch of fursuiters as rescue critters.
The chemistry in that building, small as it was, was amazing and I've not felt anything like it before or since.
I will also say that I'm already jazzed about AC 2009...and with a lot of the energy from my staff and the others I work with...I am hoping that it will be the "best con ever."

permalinkI think my favorite Anthrocon would have been 2006. It was my second con, and probably because of that it had this feeling of everything still being fresh and new, but as my second con I had a better understanding of what to do while there and how to make good use of my time. I think I had my best assortment of pictures from that con, too. It was also the last time PCD hit me really hard. And I think PCD is a bittersweet deal, it's a reminder of how much fun you had and how special that time was for you. Since 2006, of course I've had a lot of fun, but the sort of excitement has shifted from "Wow, I'm *HERE*!!!", to "Cool! I'm back!".
