Good places to eat/get supplies?

I'm coming to AC from the UK for my first ever con, I'm really looking forward to it and I'll be staying at the Westin. I have a couple of questions though: Can anyone recommend any good restaurants nearby? I'm not fussed about walking far, I have good boots. I like Italian and Oriental primarily, but I've been told I need a place that serves a good cheese steak. A mall? A convenience store? I hope peeps can help me with my queries. Kyth |

Cheese steaks are a philly thing, not a pittsburgh thing. That said, you can still find a pretty decent one in the area.
For the true effect though, you gotta get it with cheeze whiz and not american like most places outside of south philly try and serve it, that's what makes it good. <3

I only get mine from a local chain called "Philly's Best". I dunno how authentic it is honestly, but apparently they take the trouble of importing the rolls from philly
If you find yourself in Chicago sometime I'll take you there!

through the lobby doors-it's directly across the street.
You can get some supplies there.

Johnny B. Goode's Family Boozatorium, of course!
I don't actually know what the names are but there's a bar directly across the street from the hotel that I think had cheap shots for fursuiters and there's a bar IN the hotel, though apparently it's pricey.

permalinkConvenience store? I am pretty sure I saw a CVS within a few blocks of the Westin, rather close to the McDonald's. I'm a bit hazy on details as I never went there myself but I made a mental note because I have a CVS close to my house, and with very few exceptions everything I've ever needed (for day to day life) has been there.

permalinkI have two absolute favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. One is Sushi Kim, which is near enough to the Convention center to walk there easily for lunch or dinner. They serve both the best Korean food I've ever had, AND the second best sushi I have ever had - and I've been to Japan three times.
The other place that is an absolute must, in my opinion, is the Church Brew Works. You'll need to drive or take a cab, but it is so worth it. They have some of the best Pirogi's I've ever had, fairly good beer that is brewed there, and best of all its located in a converted church, so the atmosphere is just really cool.
I know you can find the Church Brew Works online and get their address, but really all you have to do is hail down a cab and ask them to take you there - they all know where it is. Not sure about Sushi Kim, but the concierge at the hotel ought to be able to direct you there.
