Just to address the obvious; you're aware that you don't need a fursuit to go to AC, right? Fursuiters are actually a relatively small percentage of AC attendees, they just attract the majority of camera lenses

If you are looking for a custom suit, various artists make them by commission but most have pretty long waiting lists so it's unlikely you'd get one done before AC.
Also, what exactly are your definitions of "inexpensive" and "cool"? x)

Define inexpensive, about 1000USD?
You're not going to find many fursuits which are cheap unless they look cheap. You could build a suit but if you don't it wouldn't be a good idea. Even if you already had a sewing or overlocking machine, decent fur costs 200-300USD for 1 suit. Plus there is the time making the suit, and the know how.

You could always try to make yourself a partial suit--it's cheaper to do and will take you less time to get it finished for AC.
OR just get a tail or ears from a dealer/artist when the con starts!

Just get a yard or two of black fluffy fur. Britex Fabrics is where I ordered mine, and there was some nice fluffy black I even ordered at something like 23USD/yd or something along the lines. just cut out a simple pattern, and use a normal sewing machine. Turn it to the right side, stuff it, put a belt on it, and you're ready.

Depends what you mean by "Cheap". The lowest cost, highest quality combo you can get(Its a balance of course) run around 900 bucks for a full suit. The average right now is about 1250 for a full suit. Partials are the way to go, less expensive, save anywhere from 200-500 by leaving out the bodysuit. Partials will run you 600-1000. Also, bear in mind with the relative proximity of anthrocon looming ahead, most makers charge a "rush" fee to bump you ahead in their queues. Getting a suit now in time for anthrocon will cost anywhere from 1200+. Just my $.02

This is just my opinion but if you have never fur-suited before than you should start out small. That means getting a partial....and seeing how you do with that. Then if you know that you can handle that....move on. You can start with just getting a partial and commission legs and torso later. I hear some people also rent fursuits...but I don't know much about that.
I make partials for around 700$ to 750$ a pop...that include everything but legs and torso...I don't think even I could get one done in time for AC for another person. Then again that is because I just finished to costumes and have a third to work on...and I'm running out of time for that(a friend's costume, local).
Just Google "Fursuits" and see what you can find. Most of the lower price ones will be full up though, I am thinking, with Summer coming and the approach of multiple cons.
If you must have something find someone who will make you a tail and ears. Go check out the classifieds section of the forums for those who are offering.
