Now I am pretty sure we have all seen LED glowsticks, if you have not then bask in their glory! http://www.glowsticksdirect.co.uk/acatalog/FS011_led_glowstick.jpg My local Dollar Tree sells that model (or one very close to it) for about a dollar. They're pretty bright (A little brighter then normal glow sticks), they last for a long time, the batteries are the cheap, interchangeable cell batteries, and they look like miniature light sabers (light daggers???)! :3 But my statement/question is this. I plan to buy a bunch of them, no idea how many yet, but a lot. How many should I buy and would you like a LED glowstick for free? ^_^ Turns out that the Dollar Tree doesn't have them anymore. So I am going to check the Dollar General |

I'd be interested in one!
However, the public safety side of me has to ask: how rugged are these? Can they handle being dropped while jumping around on a dance floor? I'm sure it's a silly question, but I'd rather ask now and find out they're sturdy, instead of being surprised at the con.
Also, if you're looking to buy a bunch, I'd recommend checking places online for bulk orders. Or at least talking to the Dollar Store people and asking if you can buy a case. You'd probably get a price break in either case.

They're pretty damn sturdy. The one I have now is cracked, but thats because a brick was dropped on it.
They might break if you jump on top of it, but hey, thats a lot of force going on it.

I have a friend who has a pair of these and they seem pretty sturdy, to understandable forces during use.

I've been buying some at Ebay, but the shipping is kind of expensive. I'll have to check out the Dollar Tree by my work/house. I'm interested in only blue ones. Blue I think will look best against my fursuit. Keep me updated please. Thank You.

I have a white one that I carry in my leather convention briefcase. Mine was meant to be used until the battery expires and is disposable, but I have seen folks change out the cell; I just haven't figured out how without cracking the case!
I don't wear mine to the dance, but when I am up afterhours it is handy to have around my neck and use when I walk into my motel room; it provides enough light to navigate a room full of sleeping furfen, but not so much as to arouse anyone from sleep; and if you need to make a bathroom trip, same thing - enough light to do your business, without waking anyone else, like a ventfan coupled to the bathroom light might.
Besides - you never know when the power will go out, it is great to get out of a building in case of a power outage.

Thats pretty smart. I'll tell people about those extra uses as a just in case. ^_^
So, would you want a blue one for the dance?

Alrighty, I plan to buy about 50 so supplies might not last as long as I want. I suggest trying to find the guy in a blue bath robe as fast as you can. ^_^
50 of them will cost me about $100. thats as much as I am willing to spend.

They've finaly done it. In the army we would tell the private to go get battries for the chem lights. Now the crazy Chem light illuminati have ruined the joke. Nuts.

I've bought these in bulk on eBay too. If you buy enough it is the best deal out there... we had the case of 100 last for about two years worth of bdays, nights out, trips to amusements parks, etc. There were only a few duds in the bunch. If you haven't ordered them yet, I'd definitely consider eBay...

Well, the first ones would probably be a 'no' due to them being a safety hazard. And I only plan to buy glow sticks. I'm not made of money you know.
