Anthrocon 2009 Conbook Submission Guidelines
|
About Anthrocon Thank you for your interest in submitting material to the Anthrocon 2009 conbook! The convention caters to furry fandom (fans of anthropomorphic animals) and is the largest of its type in the world. The convention takes place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA from July 2-5, 2009. Anthrocon seeks submissions of artwork, fiction, photography, and articles for publication in its 2009 conbook. Anthrocon asks for non-exclusive print rights for submitted works. The artist or author may publish the submitted work in any other fashion; previously, at the same time, and after. Conbook submissions and signed release form must be received no later than May 7, 2009. The theme for our 2009 convention is "OMG Aliens!" Submissions which complement this theme may be given priority. All submissions should be in the 'G' to 'PG-13' rating. The Publications Department reserves the right to reject submissions for any reason. All submissions should include the author's real name, pseudonym (if desired), and title of submission on the release form. Each submission sent according to guidelines (proper formatting, release forms, etc.) will be entered in a random drawing. Two submissions (one artwork, one writing) will be randomly selected May 7, 2009. The creator of each submission selected will receive a Supersponsorship (or upgrade, if membership has already been purchased) to Anthrocon 2009. There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted, but the same person cannot win both drawings. Members of the Anthrocon Board of Directors are not eligible for this drawing. Supersponsorship must be claimed for the 2009 convention and may not be applied against future years. Winning the drawing does not guarantee submission(s) will be used in the convention book, and publication of submitted work in the final convention book is not necessary to win. Electronic submissions are preferred. Acceptable file formats for artwork include TIFF, EPS, JPEG (high quality), GIF, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe PDF. All artwork must be high-resolution at 600 dpi or higher. Text submissions may be sent as .TXT, .RTF, Microsoft Word .DOC, or Adobe PDF. Text submissions should be no more than 2000 words. You may submit your file via e mail to book-2009@anthrocon.org. (You may also send your scanned release form to this address instead of mailing it.) CD-ROMs or hardcopy submissions to be scanned should be sent flat with a stiffener and clearly marked "DO NOT FOLD" on outside packaging. Please note Anthrocon is not responsible for damage in transit and cannot return original work. Artwork submissions to be scanned should be printed on heavy white paper with no watermarks. Do not send pencil work. Submission and Release Information Your submission is tracked by your release form. Your submission and release form must be received no later than May 7, 2009.
